capturing dvx100 footage

I shot a feature on the DVX100 24pa mode.
I want to make sure i capture the video correctly first time around.
I read the post that i should capture at 29.97 and then remove pulldown in FCP.
but should i capture the footage uncompressed? or as QT files? do i need any special equipment, to capture and/or edit the uncompressed footage - like FW800 drive or a drive with certain rpm, specific sized processor, etc?

Do the tutorials and read the manual... then you are allowed to waste our time!

Yes... 24pA is advanced thinking... but not knowing about equipment?? uncompressed??? oh my goodness.
