Capturing DVCam with timecode in FCP 5.1

Hi Everyone,

I can't edit HD on my FCP system, so I have a DVCAM dub with synced timecode. If I capture this using firewire and a DSR11 deck, will the timecode sync be maintained? Do I need a serial connection to truly keep them together? My plan is to edit the DVCam offline, and then use the cut points for an online with the HDCamSR master.
