Capturing Dilemma

i have been working on a short shot on 24p, and just logged about 100 takes for batch capture, only to find that my caputure settings are set for audio only because someone else used my setup and changed it. is there any way to change my offline clips so that when batched they will be both video (pulldown removal) and audio, so i don't have to redo a ton of work?

thanks

andrew

Unless someone else can come up with a quicker, easier solution, here's what I would do: dump all your "audio only" clips in a fresh bin, (if they're not in one already). Create another bin for the soon-to-be-correct clips, and set that one as your capture bin. Open your capture window. Drag your first audio only clip from its bin and drop it in the capture window. This loads all the correct info for that clip. Go to the "Clip Settings" tab in the capture window and check that both Video and Audio are selected. Click "Log Clip" and the corrected clip will now be in your new capture bin. Once you get the rhythm, you'll be done in no time.

Here is my recommendation:

Go to your scratch capture directory and delete all your actual data, this will cause all your clips to show up with the red slash. Go to batch capture and uncheck the "Use clip capture settings" checkbox (or whatever it is, I am at work can't remember the exact text). Then make sure your capture settings are correct and go. It will capture your in and out points for the clip, but with the settings you just selected, and everything will be good.

no. he hasn't caaptured yet- the red line is there. problem is, when you batch capture, it uses the settings that were set when you were logging.

matulis, i couldn't follow your idea. my ritalin prescription has run out, so it may be a prefectly valid solution, but i just couldn't wrap my head around it.

but what i was thinking (just an idea,) is that if you export an edl, and then re-import it, maybe that would work.

or, export a batch list. open a new project. set the capture settings correctly. then, import the batch list. capture your batch. i'll bet that would do it.

it might even work to just quit and trash your prefs from your user library. five'll get you ten that that's where that capture setting is stored. i'm almost sure of it, since it's not something that shows up in the batch list, meaning it's not a project-specific type of thing.
