capturing and logging

A DISCLAIMER FIRST!

I AM reading my manual! ..But I can't seem to figure something out: Can I capture and log clips in something other than FCP? Then just import them into a bin in my FCP browser?

For instance, old clips I have in iMovie that I already captured (24p) & want to use with a 24p sequence in FCP, can I use them or is there some technical reason why it would not match up because it wasn't captured by FCP?

All are DV QT files..

Yes you just Import the file in. File>import file

1. Note that iMovie deals with DVStreams. You'll need to export (share) the clips in a normal DV format.
2. You'll have to remove the pulldown to edit in a 23.98 timeline.
