capturing 30p in FCP

I know this may seem like an old topic of discussion for some people here, but I can't seem to get my video to capture correctly. I have DVX footage shot in 30p and when I pick Easy Setup the clips in the browser show that it has a lower field dominance. Am I just freaking out over nothing? Is FCP only have interlaced based DV timelines? Also, I made my own custom preset with capture settings, sequence settings set to a field dominance of none. However, after capturing, it still sets the clips with a lower field dominance.

Don't worry about it. It needs to know so when it sends it out via FW it still sends even and odd fields.

so just leave my sequence with no field dominance, and not worry about the captured clips? what about export? i don't want to have to de-interlace since its already progressive footage.

It actually only matters when you add stuff in your timeline. You want to make sure that is always set to none. The clips cannot be captured unprogressively at 30p whether FCP labels them as lower filed dominant or not. But if you don't make the sequence timeline set to progressive any new renders and transitions you add will be interlaced which will look incorrect next to the progressive footage.

my sequence is already set to none, so im good there, but should i not bother changing the field dominance(right-click) of the captured clips then?
