Capturing 30P Footage in Premiere 2.0

Got a question that almost seems too easy, but I need clarification.

When capturing 30p footage in Adobe Premiere 2.0 Standard DV-NTSC project am I correct in saying this footage is NOT being captured as progressive footage but IS being converted to interlaced footage?

If so, is there a way to keep the footage from being interlaced during capture or is de-interlacing after the capture the only method?

Thanks-
Joe

well technically it IS interlaced just with the fields in sync. .. i'm not 100% sure on this one but i guess you can just import and see if you see any combing
