Why are you shooting standard 24p if you don't want interlaced frames? That's exactly what that mode is for. If you want to edit 24p native- shoot at 24pA.

24p + 6 interlace frames to get you a standard 29.97 NTSC DV signal. If you want to get rid of those easily for true 24p without the interlaced, you should be shooting 24p. My DVD explains how it all works btw.

since you are shooting on a mini dv tape all your footage is automatically in an interlaced format... it's actually your editing software that enables you to convert your 24p regular or 24p advanced footage to a true 24 progressive frames per second... SO, simply record 24p advanced and use the 2:3:3:2 advanced pulldown and the NTSC DV firewire or NTSC DV firewire basic. and upon editing... be sure you set your SEQUENCE timeline to edit 23.98 and you should be good... no need for render.

NOW... if your timecode breaks during capture... then by default your editing software may have reverted the pulldown and kept your footage at 29.97 interlaced. be sure you import your clip and check the format. if it is 29.97 then you will need to use quicktime 7... i beleive... to convert it back.

all you have to do is open your raw footage file with the latest quicktime player and go to EDIT>SELECT ALL>
then your IN AND OUT POINTS should be at the first and last frame of your clip... drag your OUT POINT back several seconds (5 seconds should be safe) then
go to EDIT>TRIM TO SELECTION this will trim off the last dropped frames of your clip and reset the dropdown back in sequence.
then FILE>SAVE. and viola!!! that should fix it!! have a chill time ... and good luck with your project. you can check out these sites for tips and stuff
