I'm having some issues. I'm not using a DVX or a panasonic camera for that matter. But you guys seem pretty helpful in general, in regards to video.
I'm using vegas pro 8, and trying to capture HDV in 24p. My camera shoots in native 24p, so there is no pulldown removal. I've captured standard def video fine, but for some reason this is giving me trouble. My pc is pretty beefy.. so that shouldn' t be an issue.. 4 gigs, 6000+ dual core 3ghz.
What happens is, when I capture the video... it shows up in the project media window as m2t files, and the first clip is 23.976fps but the rest are 29.970fps.
Here's a screenshot of what I see after I capture the footage.
When I drag the first clip to the time line it makes a pretty long "clip" but, its not movable, and doesn't look like a normal video clip. When I play it back, or do ram preview.. it plays back "sped up".
Is there something I should be doing? Is M2t the right file type for this? I always thought it would be avi's or something. I'm not used to doing HDV footage.. so maybe thats why this is being annoying.
