Captured using wrong preset - can I recapture easily?

Using FCP HD 4.5, I captured using the Preset for Anamorphic (DV NTSC 48 kHz Anamorphic), but now I am realizing that this preset is not for 24AP, which is what I shot at. I am now thinking that I need to create a new custom preset by duplicating the existing one (DV NTSC 48 kHz Advanced 2:3:3:2 Pulldown) and adding the Anamorphic option. Am I correct so far???

I have a bunch of (incorrectly captured) clips already imported with notes in my browser. Is there a way to take the clip info I already have and have FCP do a batch capture from that?

By the way, I often get alerts from FCP that it can't capture a clip when I'm doing a large batch capture. When I import just the one clip, it will import okay. What is going on?

Thanks,

If you've have captured them try selecting in bin. Tools -> remove advanced pulldown.
I don't work with anamorphic but you shoudl be able to set anamorphic after the fact. Try capturing one normal with the preset and then turn on anamorphic.
Check to make sure you don't have a tiemcode break or anything that woudl confuse FCP when doing a large batch.

Looks like that will do the trick. Just to be sure, is this exactly the same as doing the capture with the Advance Pulldown?

As for the timecode break, how would I know if I have one? I don't leave gaps between recording sessions, so theoretically I should have no timecode breaks, right?

Removal is the same whether during capture or after.
Timecode breaks can occur anytime you stop the camera/power down/review your material between takes. Use the rec check button on the camera if you've powered down or reviewed something on the tape.

So, ideally, I would power down only when absolutely necessary and always use the rec check button after any review of the tape - is that right?

Anytime there's a chance for the camera to advance beyond then end of the clip then it will create a break. (power down, review)
You can double check before rolling - take look at the timecode in your display and make sure it's not reading 00:00:00

captured using wrong preset, can I recapture easily?

My problem --I believe-- is more serious.

I shot my footage with a DVX100a, (24p advanced mode), but captured the footage in FCP as normal DV 60i footage.

Unfortunately I edited a secuence (lots of cuts!), and NOW I want to recapture the footage properly.

Is there a way to tell FCP that my footage is really 24pA (similar to an "interpret footage" in After Effects, where you can tell After Effects your footage properties). Or is there a way to recapture the footage properly and retain all the cuts in my sequence?
