Capture Timelapse Problem

I've tried it twice. Some nice interval shooting, but Vegas doesn't seem to want to capture it when I'm done.

It says it's capturing it, and all the "frames" show up in the preview as it's capturing, but when I drop the clip on the timeline, it's only the first "frame".

Is there a special setting for doing this? Is the timecode messing things up?

I feel kinda silly having to capture these things using Pinnacle, then copying the AVI back to my Vegas machine. ;)

That's freakishly wierd... only the first frame shows up?

Does it say "all clips were logged successfully"?

Re: Capture Timelapse Problem

Where would it say the bit about being logged?

The top of the window says "The capture completed successfully"

0 dropped frames.

And, just for fun, I let it continue capturing into the next section of the tape... It picked up what was there as a new clip. But the timelapse stuff is still wrong.

The interval was set to the shortest/fastest (.5 & 15 secs), and the shot length is a bit over 4 minutes on tape, but the captured clip is only 00:00:01.07

So, yeah. Weird. I probably shouldn't have said "frame"...it's more than one frame (45-ish), but just the first interval.

Re: Capture Timelapse Problem

This happened to me too. Here is the solution.

When the capture screen is up, select Options from the menus on the capture screen, then select Preferences. You have to set the Minimum Clip Length (in seconds) to a number less than the default 1 second. I think I set it to "0", but I don't remember. I just know it was less than 1 and it captured fine.

Re: Capture Timelapse Problem

Yep. That did it. Thanks again.

Oh...but it's a good idea to turn of the automatic scene detection, too. Unless, of course, you like a gazillion little clips. :D
