Is there a preferred setting for importing my SD shot footage from the A1, in the "easy setup"

Should I use NTSC 1080 60i? it was shot at 60i.

BTW, I will never shoot SD on this camera again. Only did it because my client wanted to use the tapes in his SD video camera...sigh..Sort of like driving a Porsche with 3 of the plug wires pulled off :)

I brought in the SD footage already but it doesn't look all the great. A little jaggie and I think the info says it is 29.97 FPS. I think I did something weird.

You would only use 1080 60i if you were using HD.

I assume your using NTSC, and if so find NTSC and use NTSC 48khz. Im also assuming you shot wide screen, so choose animorphic from the list. If its not there, then choose NTSC 48khz then go into the sequence settings and tick the animorphic box.

You would also use 30fps for NTSC and remember, if the viewer and canvas are at 100 percent, then the quality will be at best. Dont forget aswell, if your at 100 percent, you will be able to see the interlacing, that will give the ghosting/forking effect on anything that moves. When you view this back on a TV, these wont be shown, but if you want to get rid of them anyway, apply the deinterlace filter which is under VIDEO in the video filters section.

If your viewer and or browser is over 100 percent, then you will loose quality as well. Its important to remember that no matter how big your TV is, in SD the image is always that small size, 720x568 pixels in PAL. When you think about it, its a pretty small image to work with....
