Capture problem

I just recently purchased a macbook pro with final cut studio. When I captured for the first time I noticed that some of the files were split wrong. For instance the first clip had the beginning of the second clip at the end. This was also on the original media file. I'm not sure if this has something to do with my capture settings or not. Maybe a timecode issue. Anyone familiar with this program know what might be happening? I have another wedding to do this weekend.
