capture problem

i posted this a hiwle ago, but i got my new capture camer a back, and sometimes when i plug it in, fcp wont recognie it, it ALWAYS recognizes my dvx100b, but i just got my camera back from repair, and 1/4 times it will work. I have ot turn my camera off, unplug it, plug it back in, turn camera, all these stupid steps to just get my computer to recognize it. If im lucky, it will reocgnize it first try........anything? should i send it back?>

try a different firewire cable.

I have had this problem before and it usually comes down to the fact of a falty cable.

alright guys, heres a nupdate, my camera just got back from canon, and i plug it in, and now fcp doesnt recognize it all. The wire is perfectly fine cuz when i plug my dvx in, final cut recognizes it perfect. But when i put my canon zr100, it doest, shud i send it back?

try to hot swap it a couple times, usually just plug and unplug then replug the firewire cable while your nle is up and running...it probably something real simple like that or shut down the nle and reopen it then power up the camera again. Once you learn its quirks youll get use to it.
