Hi Folks,
I had been merrily capturing using Log and Capture on FCP4.5 with a Sony GVD1000 deck until I foolishly upgraded to Tiger (10.4.8) on my dual G5. Now, when I try Log and Capture, I have device control but I get no video or audio capture. The Log Capture window indicates the VTR is "OK" but there is a message in the middle of the preview screen saying "Preview Disabled." In the A/V Devices tab in settings, the Playback Output video says "{Missing} Apple FireWire NTSC (720x480).
I uninstalled FCP and reinstalled it. No change. The Sony deck works fine with FCP 4.5 on a G4 laptop also running 10.4.8 so the deck and cable are working OK. The G5 system profile correctily identifies the Sony deck and the two G-Raid firewire 800 drives. The deck is plugged directly into a Firewire 400 port on the front of the computer. I also tried a 400 port on the back without success. No other Firewire 400 devices are plugged in.
Any ideas? I"m stumped.
