Capture Problem 24p Pulldown...

I am trying to import some footage of some clouds that I am going to speed up. Everytime I go to capture either by CAPTURE NOW or by Batch Capture I am getting an Error message mid way through. I selected another clip of clouds and I am getting the same message. I went into my settings and unchecked the box that says Abort Capture when drop frames are detected and the capture STILL stopped!

This is the Error message that comes on the screen:

BREAKS IN VFR/PULLDOWN CADENCE

These clips are about 7-8 minutes of one long shot. I am not sure what is going on. Could it be the tape? Should I have shot the clouds in normal 24P instead?

Best thing to do in this situation is to disable device control, hit capture now and press play on your camera.

Breaks occur for a number of reasons - it could be because you are reusing your tape, starting/stopping inapproriately while shoot.

I only use my tapes on a 1 pass basis. Like I said I recorded 7-8 minutes worth of clouds continuously without hitting the record button. I tried Capture NOW and it stopped using that option too.

If you any virus programs that will do it. If so turn them off and uncheck everything in the preferences. hope that helps.

What do you mean by starting/stopping inappropiately?

Im shooting 24pA and having the same problems too. Sometimes I will start shooting a new scene by recording over the last 2 seconds of recorded tape (because I dont know how to use the End Search thingy). This always makes it crash. BUT thats my fault.

Its also stops right in the middle of a perfectly good scene or if it gets to the end of recorded tape (no more time code). Whats up with that?:(

I posted my question on the Apple FCP forum and someone told me to take those 24pA clips that were giving me problems and open a new sequence but set it up as a 29.97 timeline instead. When I attempted to capture the footage surprisingly it worked that way! Got all 8 minutes of it without stopping the capture. I need to tweak the timelapse a little bit. I have it sped up to 2000%. Now since I did it this way, I am going to have to still remove the pulldown when I put that clip back into the 23.98 timeline correct? If so how do I go about doing that?
