i am trying to capture 24pa footage. i have the remove pulldown checked. sometimes the computer freezes, sometimes the video doesnt play in the capture window but the audio plays, and sometimes the clip will be captured but shows up as 00:00:00:00 in the duration window in FCP. but on the hard drive the clip is there.
if i try to reimport the clip into fcp it comes up as 00:00:00:00 in duration again. also, i cant capture more than a 4 minute clip without fcp freezing up. it is kind of driving me nuts. im thinking about trying a new firewire cable, but also have fears that it may be the camera firewire connection, or quirkiness of my laptop or operating system or fcp, or that the tapes have timecode flaws on it from faulty camera recording that is causing capturing problems. i tired using batch capture and clip capture and the computer gets a timecode error trying to cue up the shot to be captured.

fcp 4.5, osx10.4.11, g4 1.67ghz laptop with 1.5GB ram, tried using internal hard drive and external FW400 redline 7200RPM drive.
