I am capturing footage from my DVX100B to Final Cut Pro on my Mac Book Pro, since I don't own a deck. I purchased a bilingual cable that goes from DV to Firewire 800. When I open Final Cut Pro, it tells me my firewire input is missing. So when I go to Refresh A/V Devices under the View tab, it shows my firewire is present, but when I try to Log and Capture, it shows that there is no communication between my camera and FCP. The cable is new, the camera is fairly new, and I've only edited one project so far on my new computer, and I captured the footage just fine that time. Is there a setting on FCP that I am overlooking or on the camera itself, or is my cable bad? I have tried everything. If you have any ideas, let me know.
