capture from one use in the other

This has been mentioned but thats about it. I am wondering if anyone has figured out the correct settings in final cut pro, that make it so you don't have to render all the footage that is imported from imovie. Thats the only thing that really drives me nuts about the FCP. You have to have each and every little setting right or it says "aaaaaaaa I can't deal with this I had better render it." I have gone through all the timeline settings and tried to match everything to the imovie footage. (field dominance, pixel size, etc...) So if anybody had any info that would be great.
I am capturing a live two hour presentation right into imove and want to do the finish work in FCP.

I don't really want to capture right to final cut because it can be really fishy and unstable compared to imovie. I konw there is the capture now uncontrolled thing but then I have had all kinds of weird slipping audio and things like that. it would be easer to go to imovie.

Imovie does not understand 24padvanced.

Shoot 60i... then import the footage into Final Cut and have your sequence settings set the same as the footage, there will be no problem whatsoever.

If you import a clip, drop it on a timeline and it tells you, you need to render, it means your sequence settings are set wrong. This is a user problem, not a program problem.

(note, if you open a new project in Final Cut, the first sequence that appears will be set to whatever parameters the sequence settings are set at. So, if you need to change the settings, this will only affect new sequences, any sequences created before a change remain the same - so delete them and start with new sequences).
