i cannot capture more than a 4 to 5 minute clip without my computer freezing.
I tried using the external firewire drive, i tried using the laptop internal drive, i tried it at DV with pulldown being removed, i tried it at 29.97 DV, i tried running the camera firewire into the external drive and then the external drive into the laptop, i tried running the camera firewire into the laptop and recording to the laptop drive. i could have sworn i have not had this problem before. the external drive has plenty of space. the laptop drive seems to have enough space for a clip much longer than it is freezing at. i am using a 1.67ghz powerpc g4 with 1.5gb ram, osx 10.4.11, redline 320GB 7200rpm external fw400 drive. what am i doing wrong? I have about 15 hours of footage to digitize.
