Capture/Framerate problems

So I'm shooting with my DVX-100B in 24P and I capture some clips, and I noticed that they are being captured in 29.97fps. I set everything in Easy Setup and Audio/Visual Settings to capture in 24fps, but it still shows in the browser under "vid rate" that my clips are in 29.97fps. I've had no problems capture HDV (from a different camera) correctly, but for some reason capturing from my DVX100B gives me problems. My preview picture when I capture gives me a slowed down, stuttery, "laggy" effect, not the smooth video that my LCD screen on my DVX shows me while I'm capturing.

Am I missing something simple here? I want to be getting the most out of my camera, and I don't want my clips to be 30p when I shot them at 24p. For crying out loud, I bought this camera primarily because it shoots in 24p! Help me out, and thanks!

In other words...

In other words...

Maybe I should explain this a little bit better.

Before I capture, I set everything to NTSC, DV, 24fps, Firewire, etc. Then, I capture the footage. (For some reason it stops after 9:24 of capturing every time and claims that there is insufficent space to continue capturing even though i have over 250GB still free on my drive, but that's a different problem).

Once the footage is in the browser, i check it to see what frame rate it captured at, and under "Vid Rate" it says 29.97fps. Why is it converting my footage to 29.97fps when I shot it at 24fps? This isn't normal, right?

Please, help! I just want to get the most out of my DVX-100B!
