Hello all you wonderful, helpful dvxusers! So, I am attempting to capture video from my DVX and am having issues with the generic firewire card I recently installed...upon installation, my computer told me it found all the appropriate drivers, etc, but Vegas (8) has never recognized my camera and I think the culprit is the driver...to check to see if I was doing anything wrong, I tried capturing video to my laptop that has Vegas 6 installed, and no problems...so again, I think the lack of the right driver is the culprit. I think all my settings are correct within Vegas, but maybe not? "Use external video capture application" under Preferences --> Video is checked, and reads: "C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 8.0\VidCap60.EXE"
I DID go to the device manager, and it tells me my drivers are up-to-date (...), SO my question is, can I/how can I do a search to see what brand & model my firewire card is, so that I can download the appropriate driver? The firewire card MAY have come with a driver disc, but once my computer told me all was well, I may have thrown it away. Also, I don't want to use my laptop for this shizz, as it is a slower...also, my desktop is running on Vista 32-bit (oops?)...any suggestions ya'll may have would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
