Canvas size/ratio headscratcher!

Newbie question...

Ive been happily editing all day my 16:9 PAL footage with no problems, until i started a new sequence. Now my canvas has started displaying my footage with letterboxing , which is annoying, and also renders them in the final QT movie when i export. The first sequence is still in the same project and is fine. Ive looked thhrough the settings for the seq, but they seeem the same as the good one...

Any ideas what ive done? Have a look at the screenshot to see what i mean

Your sequence isn't set to anamorphic and FCP had decided that what you REALLY wanted was 4:3 (or whatever PAL is) with the anamorphic material letterboxed.

Your BEST way of fixing this is to Apple-Zero the sequence in the browser and clicking on the anamorphic button... that will mess up ALL your clips, just select them all in the timeline and right-click REMOVE ATTRIBUTES check ONLY DISTORT.
