Can't view some quicktime files?

Alot of the stuff posted here is quicktime for some reason every time I download alot of it I can't watch it, it says 'some files may be missing for quick time' or something like that I can hear it but all I see is white.

Any suggestions?
 
I have that problem on my PC at work sometimes. Maybe you just need to download the newest version of Quicktime.
 
Quicktime 7 has a "connect to quicktime site" option after an error, which will allow you to install optional plugins for Quicktime.

I had some people send me some MOV files that needed the Ensharpen codec for Quicktime and a simple "click click" and I was watching the movie.
 
If it's a DVCPRO-HD quicktime, those won't play on Windows computers, all you'll get is a white screen. Apple hasn't put the DVCPRO-HD codec into the Windows version of Quicktime.
