Cant update vegas 9b to 9c !!!

When trying to update vegas 9.b to 9.c I am prompted to install MS Visual C+++ redistributable - I have that program already - yet vegas aborts the installation with a " Requirements not met"

I am running i7 920 / 12GB ddr3 1600, win7 64, vegas 64 as well ?

Have anybody had this issue?
 
Perrone - I might just take your advice on that. I like Vegas so far for editing, but not for avchd - what would you recommend as a solid edit format that I can transcode to ? (looked into cinneform, but too many issues on vegas it seems ) Thanks !

This seems to be windows 7 x64 issue, something within windows is not letting that installed without which vegas cannot be updated. I faced this problem too but after I ran windows update it got sorted out so not sure what was stopping it though.
