Hey guys im having some problems with FCE 2 i got.

I have it installed on my ibook and it works great but i recently got a MDD powermac which had tiger preloaded and the harddrive setup already.

I have FCE installed and i dont remember it asking me to set the scratch disk like it did when i installed on my ibook.

Anyway when i load it it say, unable to set scratch disk- the selected directory is on a write-protected or non-writable media.

When i go into system preferences the scratch disk is set to

user/movies/capture scratch and it sets up to that fine but each time i load even though the scratch is set it read unable to set scratch disk???

Since i am unable to set that i cannot capture footage, what can i do to make my drive non write protected or set the scratch right? do i have to set to an external drive since my HDD is write-protected?

I have no issues adding apps, or music, or downloading files so whats the issue... :Drogar-Mad(DBG):
