Hey,
I got my 5d Mark II yesterday and took some test footage, converted it to Pro Res 422 and applied some basic colour correction to see how well it holds up.
I'm trying to render it out and get the lame 'Hardware cannot render at this size and depth' error.
I 'fixed' this by going to the sequence settings and changing the bit rate to 8bit YUV from PR's 10bit native.
I was wondering firstly if anyone know a workaround to this - i.e. if it's a lame error or if it's a genuine hardware issue - i.e. my graphics card just ain't up to 10bit.
Secondly, I was wondering if it will actually make a difference to my footage. I presume since the 5D shoots H.264, which is probably 8bit, that it won't have any effect on quality.
Although does the fact the transcoded, not cc'd files are 10 bit, does it make no real difference quality wise.
Is this only an issue if we ever get to shoot direct from camera, say, as 10it 4.4.4 or whatever, but at the moment it won't affect things?
Hope that babbling is readable in my confused state!
