can't remove pulldown?

I asked a about a week ago about howI captured my 24pA footage and didn't remove the pulldown and what should I do. Someone mentioned how I could still remove the pulldown after I captured by selecting the clip in the browser window and select remove advanced pulldown from the tools menu.

Well I did that and it says ERROR cannot find clips with Advance Pulldown to remove. I not only checked my cameras file settings for 24pA, but I'm hooked up to a televisiona nd sure enough, every 5th frame is interlaced.

Any idea what I should do?

You might consider recapturing.

It might be that there's a timecode break at the start or not enough inital frames at the start of capture so it can check the cadence. Try trimming head of the clip and see if you can remove it.
Check fps in the browser window.

Now are you supposed to add the pulldown back when done editing? Or does it add it on its own upon export? If we are supposed to add it back what is that process? I can't remember!

Print to video handles adding the pulldown automatically when you go back to tape.
To go to a QT with pulldown added with fcp 4.5 you had to go to a third pary app such as AE. I believe FCP 5 / cinema tools may do this now(?)

i think FCP adds the pull down when printing to tape, but if your going to dvd, you keep it 24p and the DVD player adds the pulldown when you play it
