Can't preview w/ Quicktime!

Hmmm... everytime I try to preview in player using quicktime it says that the file format plug-in was not properly initialized. Any ideas?

Try reinstalling quicktime
Usually when there is a quick time problem, quick time itself is to blame. What version of quicktime are you using?

I'm using 6.5. I reinstalled it though, and it's still giving me the same thing. :(

I have heard that there are problems with 6.5. I am still using 6.0 even thought I have been prompted to upgrade. you might try going back to 6.0.

Help me out here guys, I may be missing something. What are you trying to preview, and what "player" are you refering too? Are you talking about viewing rendered Vegas files? Don't you have to render your files as quicktime movies to view them in quicktime? Are you rendering Quicktime or AVI?

ARGH! I can't find Quicktime anything below 6.5! :( Any ideas?

filmmaker, that's what I'm talking about, rendering a preview in quicktime.

Oh. is there an advantage to doing that rather than an AVI? Smaller file size I suppose huh?

I figured it out, when I originally installed quicktime, I didn't install with the mpeg4 authoring option. I updated and added it, so it works fine now! yay!
