Here is something new:
When I open a large Premiere CS3 file with Premiere CS5 and then save it, the next time I open it under CS5 it won't work. The timeline just stands there and I get a white playback while the system freezes. Finally CS5 just shuts down automatically. Oddly this only occurs if the CS3 file has imbedded sequences and is large.
What is even more odd about this is that I did not have that problem in the past. It just started a while ago. I have uninstalled and re-installed Premiere CS5 and the problem keeps on occuring.
It appears that CS5 can not save the file correctly. How odd.
My gut feeling is that this might be a memory issue. Yes I have 12 Gigs on a Win 7 I7 960. That should be powerful enough, especially insofar as CS3 could handle these files under Win XP.
What could be the problem?
