Can't get PPro2 Projects into AE?

Hey everyone, this is my first post in these forums, but I've been a lurker for quite a while. I've just got started editing with AE 7.0 and PPro2, but I've run into quite a snag. It seems that I cannot directly import PPro2 Projects into AE. I've heard that this can be done very easily if you install PPro2 after you have installed AE. Well, I didn't originally, so I went back, uninstalled PPro2 and then reinstalled it after rebooting. I figured that this would work... however, it did not. I've also heard that you can manually install the plugin that allows PPro2 files to be imported by AE, but I have not been able to find the location or name of this plugin. Any sort of help would be great! I'm really stumped! Thanks in advance!

In After Effects, select IMPORT-FILE, then make sure ALL FILES is selected in the dropdown box. You should be able to see your Premiere project and import it. Give that a shot.

Okay, I'll give that a try... I'll let you know what happens...

If this helps, whenever i try to import the project it says something like this "DVI Error" ... something like this

I thought that only worked if you had Production Studio version... or does it work if you just bought both programs separately?

you can copy and paste between the apps using the pro or standard versions, purchased seperately, or together.

Hmmm, neither of those ideas worked... it still says "Unknown DV and AVI error" and it imports everything ... but when you put them in the comp, all you get is the broadcast testing colors. I've read about this other places, and i've heard you need to have a certain plugin to do this, which is standard with the programs but it only installs itself if it recognizes the other program while being installed.... but I reinstalled PPro... and it didn't work. I'm very confused. I'm stuck having to export the ENTIRE sequence (or clip by clip) in AVI and then importing into AE. Am I losing quality by doing this?

are you using a legit copy of the programs?

yes

@shooter- already tried that.

If anyone could just tell me what the name of the plugin that allows for easy transfer between these two programs, that would be great. I read about several other people having this same issue with the same error message on Adobe's forums... but all the threads died before anyone could answer. Its just one file that needs to be installed but for some reason my copy of PPro2 didn't recognize AE when I reinstalled it.... maybe I didn't uninstall all of the components and it just left it uninstalled. Thanks in advance!
