Can't get file to go in????

[New_Zealand]

I'm working on Vegas Pro 9 and I have a file that says: Window Media Audio/Video file but I can't seem to get it to drag onto my timeline? It is some footage that a friend of mine did some effects on for me. Any other file that says that works fine just that one doesn't. Any help would be great.

Get your friend to render it out in a different (less lossless) format.
WMV is very compressed and should only be used for final renders, never as source video.
