Can't Get Composite Display

Sad Max

Artful Dodger
So I'm running a BOXX Technologies quad-processor machine, using Adobe Premiere Pro v1.5, an Nvidia Quadro FX540 card with a PNY breakout box (RGB and S-Video component out connections) and a Sony PVM-14N5U NTSC monitor.

The breakout box will send my desktop to the Sony, which is nice and useless, but try as I might I can't find the right settings to get it to send the Premiere signal, which is kind of sort of the whole point in having the monitor here, to begin with.

So I am reduced to leaving my DVX plugged into the firewire port, and using its lcd screen and tinny on-board speaker as my outboard monitor, which sucks.

Anyone know how to set this up so that I can watch my Premiere output on the Sony...?

I think you need to have an interface between Premiere and your monitor. I am currently using a TV (though I have a large JVC sitting in a box) and I use a cheap camcorder. Firewire to vidcam, svideo from camcorder to monitor. That's the only way I could get Premiere to show on monitor. (Granted, I am not familiar with this breakout box you are referring to).

Isn't the breakout box itself supposed to be the connection to the deck or monitor...? If the s-video connector on the box is hot with an NTSC signal (which it is; my desktop comes out in NTSC and shows up on the Sony), I'm not sure I see why an additional device between box and monitor would make a difference, when it's Premiere's output that refuses to show up.

Seems to me, this is probably a software settings issue that someone smarter than me might know how to resolve.

But I'll try it.
