can't drag to the timeline

I've been using Premiere Pro 2.0 for a while now without any problems (at least major ones). However, I now can't drag anything from the project library to the timeline. I tried it with newly imported and previously stored footage to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
ARe you using a standard project preset?

Have you locked the tracks?

Have you removed any audio tracks?

What type of footage /clips are you having probs with?
 
Standard. Unlocked tracks. Haven't removed anything. It's really puzzling.

All type of clips (audio, video, titles) are unresponsive.

I rebooted a couple of times as well. I think it may be a problem with my hardware rather than Premiere as Word is acting insane as well. I'm running a scan now.
