Hi all,

Tried syncing 3 cameras but have run into a problem. Camera's are a) Panasonic camcorder recording ProRes on Atomos recorder, Nikon recording ProRes on Atomos recorder and Sony A7 recording AVCHD internally. Each camera has mic attached and captured the sound of the slate just fine. Tried syncing using "audio" and I get an error saying DR can't sync the Sony. So I add markers at the slate point and try syncing using 'Markers" and again DR reports an error. Tried again using IN/OUT points and whilst no errors reported, the Sony clip is way out of alignment.

Any suggestions?

TIA

You might try breaking up the Sony into a few shorter clips and then see if any one of the short clips will merge into the multicam clip. If successful getting one to work you can bring in the others until you find the one that’s causing the problem.

You might try breaking up the Sony into a few shorter clips

The Sony clip was only about 1min long (I was testing the multicam in DR16.2)

Did you use the new sync bin? Try this:

It was the Sync bin method that I was testing and when that failed, I tried the normal multicam in the EDIT tab.

The result was the same; would not sync the Sony (Sony clip was converted to ProRes using ACDH converter)

This morning I tried the Sony and Nikon recording into Atomos recorders.

Sync worked using both methods; although I noticed it wasn't absolutely perfect, so I re-synced using markers at the slate point and that produced perfect sync
