I've always used cineform to capture. but today I tried to capture ordinary DV from a cheap samsung cam with vegas's capture software. Couldn't do it! Vegas doesn't "See" the samsung it seems. What are possible culprits?

Yeah sure, laugh at me. I'll have you know that in the meantime I've been reduced to capturing in Window's Movie Maker.

I would think the Vegas community would rally to my side. We're supposed to take care of our own.

Try the standalone application for video capture within Vegas. It worked for me
