Hey all, I just got the Canopus advc-100 for external monitoring from Vegas, After Effects etc. But I am getting no signal to my TV. I am running a brand new gold plated s-video cable out from the advc-100 unit to a 13" tv that has s-video and component inputs.
In Vegas I have tried both the IEEE 1394 external preview option (which does say device unavailable...?) and the video for windows option, with no luck at all. I have tried monitoring a 24p project, a standard miniDV project and an mpeg2 file in Vegas, with no change in results.
For connecting the advc-100 to the computer, I have tried all the various firewire ports on my computer including the front panel FW so I doubt that is the issue. I have run the firewire in to both the 4-pin front panel connector of the advc-100 and the rear full size connector with no change in result. I have toggled the digital/analog in button, which does cause a flicker on the TV and changes the blank screen from "there's a signal" black to just dead black if that makes any sense.
$400 later for all this monitoring gear and I need serious HELP! Have a deadline tomorrow and would love to put this unit to work soon.
