Canon has launched its "flagship" XF705 camcorder UHD 4k at 60p at 4:2:2 10bits
15x lens (25.5mm -382.5mm)
Price: $6999
The availability date is not mentioned in B&H site

Do you think 7K is a bit high? :)

I would have loved if the focal length would have been upto 500+ mm like the XF305. Else it becomes difficult for wildlife. Guess it is targeted at events guys.
 
If the lens started at 2.0 or even 2.2 I personally feel 7K would be a good price. Having the lens at 2.8-4.5 at 7K for me is high. $5999 would peak my interest.
 
The lens specs were undoubtedly affected by having to accommodate a 1-inch type sensor, vs the 1/3-inch on the XF300/XF305. Isn't 15x zoom pretty good still? Also, don't forget if you are delivering in FHD, you can still crop zoom in your NLE anything you shot in 4K. I guess for slow-mo, you'd be stuck with the lens limitation.... unless you're delivering in SD, then you're in luck again.
 
If I'm going to use this camera (and I might), it'd be for verite-style work and I think I'll be hanging around f/4+, so for me, the lens might be OK.

Looking forward to seeing some real-world reports on how the camera works... Ya, I know; gotta wait a while.
