Canon vs Sony road map

I really like the canon cameras and sensors. I also like using the ubiquitous Ef canon mount lenses without an adapter. Canon makes solid gear with ease of use and great skin tones. However canon is slow compared to other manufacturers to release new gear and often they make tiny incremental improvements rather than releasing new breakthroughs all at once. Sony on the other hand is releasing new cameras faster than I can keep up with bleeding edge technology but they aren't always rock solid with things like overheating issues.
the canon strategy has Ben working. They bounce back with cameras like the c100 that become instant trusted workhorses but lately it seems like canon is falling fArther behind in the tech race.
canon has failed to really produce a camera adopted for Hollywood productions like the arri.

Do you think canon is going to respond with something breakthrough or just be outpaced by Sony?

Canon gave it away, they had cutting tech that was wrung out so many times there's nothing left. That's when many Canon users jumped ship. Why is it Sony can produce a 4k cam with loads of features for half the price of Canon? I wish I knew the answer to that but I don't. I've long given up on Canon even trying to keep up with the competition, it's not their philosophy, if i'm not mistaken it's more like " do you think we can get a couple more rebel runs on this 5yr old tech?"

I think you're right. I'm pretty sure my next purchase is going to be a Sony.
