Canon user thread - post your pictures here

These are great. Do you mind talking about some of your processes. Do you use flash in any of the shots that make up your HDR? do you manually point in the HDR or do you use photoshopts merge to HDR. Your colors are extremely saturated whats your technique to bring those out?

This photo set is my first attempt with HDR, so I did a lot of experimenting. When I took these photos I didn't use any flash, just used the natural light and had my camera on a tripod. I shot each picture with the AEB (auto exposure bracketing) setting at -2, 0, +2 to give me three seperate exposures. After I uploaded the photos on my computer, I merged the three exposures with Photomatix and used the Tone Mapping tool. After I got the look I wanted, I did all of my color enhancements in Photoshop. I just learned about HDR photography just the other week, so I'm still in the begining stages of learning. With that in mind, I hope I'm giving you some useful information. Cheers

Just a couple of shots from a wedding I shot for a friend. First time doing photography for a wedding...and probably my last haha. I was limited to staying on the balcony due to the front of the church being very narrow. The couple was understanding of the limitation.

I've got lots to edit, so these are just a couple for now...

Don't be so hard on yourself. There are two things that I would recommend changing that luckily you can do in post. The first is the amount of contrast you use. The blacks are way to crushed. It just doesn't look good for wedding photography when you want to expose for tuxes and wedding dresses at the same time. The second issue I see right off the bat is your white balance. Most of your shots are way to cold. Add some warmth to their faces, don't just go off what you auto white balance chooses. I think your shots will look a lot better if you do those two things.

Thanks for the advice! I definitely noticed that. I will add some warmth and reduce the amount that the blacks are crushed. I'll work on them some more over the weekend.
