Canon user thread - post your pictures here

"Flash me in the face just one more time...I dare ya!"

I'm going out on a limb here and post this shot (a) because it's a Canon point and shoot rather than a DSLR and (b) it's a pic of my cat:) The important part for me is the outstanding capabilities of this little camera. Don't get me wrong, I still swear by my Oly E-3 as a "big gun" but for a slide in the pocket, unobtrusive stealth cam this little Canon rocks!

Egg, I see, I never really looked into lensbabies.

ihatedv, wow to that sunset, railroads are awesome, especially when they run east to west, awesome colors

watch out starmapper, that cat looks tough

She's really a very gentle animal. A good impressionist however. I told her "Do Marlon Brando" Then I hit the button

Hey, what P&S was that Starmapper? You say you like it but you don't care to say which it is? hmmm... I think you just like your Italian mobster cat :)

Nice shot Timur!

Here is a jpeg I got from the project that Matt worked up on that shot of Michelle by the beach. He added about 15 layers to it. All I did was mess them all up, rezise and hit save.

The two pictures of the sky were taken during golden hour. Sunrise in Mexico after a loooong night of flying. Kind of blurry sorry for that..

The other was on the way back state-side..

Nice shot 10range. I would maybe crop a little bit off the bottom, I think it would give the subject a little more of the attention it deserves. What are you shooting with??

This shot was taken with a 20d, nifty fifty and a full set of extension tubes. I have another version that I have cropped similar to your recommendation. It looks good but I personally prefer this one because I think that having the flower in the background that is shown in the rain drop adds some depth to the image. Thanks for the comments.

I would say you should keep it because while I typically prefer flower macro shots in a square aspect ratio, cropping will make that water droplet feel too trapped

...and you would loose a few of those great 5 sided out of focus highlights!

knobody likes to kill those babies

Oh great Disjecta you're going to be great at still photos too?!

These are fantastic. They really are. I am loving the headshots. Not only well lit but they have a lot of depth and character. And interesting to see the younger daughter with the reddish/strawberry blonde hair...I can remember her from a vid from just a few years ago....my how quickly they grow up!

Keep 'em coming please...
