Canon user thread - post your pictures here

Ok, actually I meant the f-stop or number or whatever. Isn´t aperture the word for that?^^

Besides, I can´t see your pictures. :)

yes. you are right. I just put the shutter speed. I had it at 6.3. With this lens combo I can't go much more open than that. Maybe a 4.0 tops.

I'm using this new online thing. Not sure why the pics are not sticking. I'll put them back up the old way...

This b/w shot is epic.

Thanks pt.

this is from my orig pano...but crisper for some reason (im guessing the algorithm needed to stitch shots softens the images a bit?) and a different post process...

Photoshop has an automated stitching thing in it. If you can just get yourself Photoshop and you'll be set for all your photography needs and then some... well 99% at least, there is always something else.

I love the tiny people in the shot. Have you tried bumping up the greens a little bit on the mountains? I think it would compliment the rest of the frame well.

I also liked the black and white.

Butterflies? Where? I see no butterflies. :)

Not sure if this is too much or not...

I have Photoshop actually. I never used their stitch feature. I only used Canons Photostich because I was curious and it was super easy. But hell, if Photoshop has it.....

I think it is on File > Automate > Merge, check it out, it works great and it doesn't degrade or lower resolution. You'll end up with a massive picture so you'll have to rezise it to your liking.

Not sure how it looks on your monitor but since you ask, I would definitely go a little less green than that.

I rarely use a tripod for my panoramas so photoshops automated merge doesn't usually work out to well for me (not to mention that I always seem to forget to take the camera off of Av or Tv). Stitching by hand doesn't take too long either. Just overlap by about 20% put a mask on and use a really large and soft brush to paint in the two.

lol. Thanks. It was just a very polite and funny way to put that. (I gotta be honest, I'm perplexed as to why all of my latest pics are so soft when I post them. They are very wide shots so they are innately not as crisp as a close-up but they are definitely sharper in photoshop and filefront before I post them )

Yeah, I didn't use a tripod for my 1 and only pano either. I'm not advocating the use of Canon Stitch because I literally was just playing with it and this was the ONLY group of photos I have ever stitched...I was just amazed at how perfect it lined it up for me. I did NOTHING but press the button Automate and it did the rest.

you guys should try it, it is the easiest thing ever... I looked, it is File > Automate > Photomerge, then select Auto which works very well

just overlap your pictures a bit and it all happens before your eyes without doing anything yourself

I always use my tripod, just wish I had a camera with a centered sensor

Rick, that single picture looks VERY sharp to me, the pier legs and the people seem very sharp, BTW the green looks much better to me now

Lens Baby

Lens Baby

I recently bought a 2nd hand Original Lens Baby for my Canon 450d, here are a few shots:

it's pretty temperamental, but for the most part it's fun to shoot w/. I wouldn't recommend using this lens for a must get photo, but it's fun to play around with.

bustak....im digging these. i think i would be scared to use a lens that goes out of its way to distort the image for anything serious. I think I would feel more comfortable using photoshop. but, then again, im a chicken.

i like the 5th shot with the mirror though I think it maybe better IMHO using good old DOF. That coming from a mindset that sees no real use for the lens baby in everyday shots. I'm sure it has a function, I'm just oblivious to it. I also like # 4 for its abstract qualities:) Nice shots overall.

I don't think you can use lens babies for prespective control, just selective focus. You need a tilt and shift lens for perspective control (and sharp optics)
