Canon user thread - post your pictures here

Yeah I dig the camera personally. I'd like to have better lenses (I only have one L series lens) but theres still a lot to learn so there is no rush. Keep posting!

PT...I am fairly sure I already posted your photos and shots from SWEENEY TODD to compare the two desaturated styles. But, here goes again...

Hm, you can´t really compare shots of people and shots of cars. What I did with the girl... was complex. I´m not sure anymore. Lots of it is color balance I think. I often play with color balance and when I say play I mean play. ;)

In photo of the girl could also be a bit of the following with I use for cars very often:
Take the channel mixer, put it on monochromatic, play with the settings, take a duplicate of your background and put it over the channel mixer. then most importantly, the layer settings or whatever it is called, you have to put it on soft light.

That´s a nice beginning very often. And now I´m curious about your results.

egproductions, I would have liked it to be a bit more symmetric e.g. the glasses but still nice atmosphere.

Yeah, it is a nice atmosphere and definitely a beautiful background. Here's a couple pictures I took yesterday.

Thanks a lot Larry. All, but the Canadian goose was shot with the stock 18-55mm lens. The goose picture was shot with a 75-300mm zoom lens.

Phillip! That's your name - damn, I get tired of saying "pt" lol. Anyway, nice shot. It looks so surreal.

Wow Larry, huge jump from the initial pictures you posted. Maybe you just didn't have the best subject matter originally, but these are great! The one with the cake icing is actually making me consider going out and buying one haha.

I like the bridge and the glow was a nice touch on the trees.

Keep up the good work,

Kegan

Thanks, glad you're enjoying the pics. This is a total blast, I'm enjoying this camera so much.

My biggest struggle now is I'm seeing shots that need a longer lens than what I currently have, but my budget doesn't have room for another lens yet :crybaby: ... but actually, it's been good at teaching me to see shots that do fit in my lens. I think this whole experience can only improve my skills with a film/video camera :)

I wish this thread was as active as the Nikon thread ... I love looking at all the pics. Come on people .. post your photos! :D

I'm liking the bridge shot, looks like a really old bridge. The shot makes me wonder how those graffiti guys get paint way at the top?

Thanks Mino ... that means a lot coming from you, I definitely dig your shots. It's definitely a structure with a lot of character. I took some other shots of it, I'll have to dig them up tonight and post them.

I guess you could climb up the wide structure on either side, but it's fairly steep and I would imagine slippery ... but they certainly get up there somehow.

I just wish I had a nice, deep blue sky with some white, puffy clouds ... but I guess that's hard to get when it's raining :)
