Canon user thread - post your pictures here

Rick, I don´t think that they´re too saturated. I won´t kill you this time. :D

What I don´t like in #1 is the dark spot in the left corner. It´s drawing my attention.
I think #2 is my fav.

And next time go for a better location. :)

PT...even if you DID think it was too saturated...I still respect your opinion and am always glad to have it.

The dark spot I can fix. The original was clean...no dark areas..but I wanted the hand on the strings to be the focal point...but perhaps I went too far. I am still in that place where I only occasionaly say "EUREKA! THATS IT! DONT TOUCH THAT PHOTO ANYMORE!" So, I am learning.

And, I knew you'd like that B&W best. You're right about the location though. He didn't want the pics to look too 'prepared'. But, I'm not a big fan of the crap in the background.

PS thanks kegan.

Yeah, I see what you wanted to do with that dark area but it´s quite obtrusive.
I also used those things as you may remember and it´s funny that somebody from this community said the same thing to me that I now say to you: Don´t use it or at least not so obviously because it draws the attention to the corner and not to your point of interest. :)

Thanks a lot Matt - that was much appreciated. I'll be going through all those links and reading them so hopefully I'll be able to post up some HDR pictures soon!

Kegan,
There are also some great examples of HDR up on Flickr, if you want some more examples of what HDR should look like!

Good Luck and I will be watching this thread to check out your stuff!

wow PT...Where are you getting all of these awesome shots of the cars...I wish I could have some of the same shots? hey isnt that the same window across the street that you took a picture of a car on a lift? I think it was an Aston?

Wow, you remember that picture... that´s cool. Yes it was the same location.

It´s a big house only for cars and when I´m around I can easily get shots of some cool cars.

The thing with the Mustang was a planned shooting, though. The guys who own it wanted some pictures for ebay.

im not exactly sure how you light something like that. It is beautiful, but confusing lol :)

Well, I did this in a quite unconventional way I suppose. The whole thing was done outside, no studio or something.
I had a piece of polystyrene in the back of the flower, so that´s the background. And then I had another piece of polystyrene next to me to bounce some sunlight on the flower.
That´s it. :D

You posted pics of that guy some time ago, didn´t you? I remember him.^^ Quite funny.

Hey guys, I just got in to photography and made my first pictures this weekend, so all these pics are from two days, in which I learned to use the camera.

I shot them with a Digital Rebel XT, a.k.a. the 350D

I know these are a lot of pics, but I'm really looking for a critique of my shooting style.

Thanks!

Not the biggest fan of these, but I thought I'd post them up anyway. It was fairly early in the morning, so my senses weren't all there. A couple of them had great potential, but came out too soft.

I know, I know - I take a lot of pictures of flowers, which seems really easy, but if you look closely, they're starting to brown and lose their vibrancy. I'll plan a couple cool shoots soon and a model one should be in the next couple weeks.
