Canon signals Thunderbolt support

Well... maybe I wasn't too far off with my crazy guess that this was how you could get RAW images from a Canon DSLR?

Haha, nah, I'm sure I'm WAY off.

Heh...you da man, Kholi! :)

All joking aside....although I doubt that Canon is ready for that....(or anyone else on a DSLR)....I'm sure that cranking 220MB [X]-codec out of a DSLR can't be more than 24-36 months away. Heck with a Tester13/Magic Lantern hack it might be less than 12 months away. That's MILES away from RAW.....but....it might be fun to see what a Hacked GH4 at 2-3 times the bit rate with the proper implementation might look like. :) (I know it was ~CANON~ who's looking into it...not Panny....but I can't imagine why they wouldn't all go to something that fast....just like USB1 upgrade to USB2...no brainer really)

This is totally geared to their video line. XF with Thuderbolt is the safest bet. No way Thunderbolt is coming to a 5D / 7D.

While it would be nice, Thunderbolt uncompressed video out would start to fix ONE of the problems with video on a DSLR, it would still be leaving a dozen major headaches untouched with using a DSLR for video.

I meant straight to external hard drives, like Andromeda.

Of course I know that's probably not the case, hence the "I'm sure I'm WAY off."
