Canon Rebel - Lens Spec Question

[Larry Rutledge]

I was looking at lenses online, but see descriptions like this:

Sigma 100-300 4.5-6.7 Lens F/eos *55
Sigma 75-300 4/5.6 Mac Af F/eos

How do I determine from a description like that whether or not it will work on my Rebel XT? What terms/codes/etc should I be looking for in lens descriptions to know if it will fit my camera or not?

Thanks for any help,
Larry

look for EF or EF-S for Canon.
