Canon or Zeiss?

I was wondering if I should get a canon fd 24mm f/1.4 L or a Zeiss 24mm f/2.8.
I know most people go with the Zeiss but the Canon is in the same price range.

I've never used those lenses but from the f-stops the Canon would allow you to shoot scenes with 1/4 of the light you'd have to have for proper exposure with the Zeiss. You can also get a shallower depth of field at 1.4 than at 2.8.

From what I have experienced you can't beat the sharpness of them or the smoothness and amount of throw you have with the focus ring on the Zeiss. If i had the money I would get all Zeiss joints.

zeiss is probably the best money can buy, but nobody ever scoffed at canon L glass either. f2.8 wide open is just a lil bit too slow for an adapter IMHO. tough call, but i think i'd go canon and the two extra stops.
