Hi there:)

I have the following lens :-

Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 EF-S (USM) LENS
Canon 100mm f/2.8 EF USM MACRO LENS
Canon 50mm f/1.4 EF (USM) LENS
Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS EF USM LENS

Can I use any with the Letus35 Extreme or I need to get
Nikon lenses for full optimization.
I own the XH-A!1

As far as I know they will be ok. Only thing is if they are lenses for a digital camera that is NOT full frame (so with canon, anything but the 5D (but someone else can confirm this) it projects a smaller image on the GG, as its designed to project a small image onto a small sensor.

Im not 100 percent sure but I think we are better off using film lenses rather than digital still lenses.

It will work, Im just not sure you will get optimum performance out of it.

I personally recommend canon FD lenses, they are cheap and plentiful in 2nd hand camera shops, they are built to last and produce very nice images.

the 100mm the 50mm and 100-400 will be fine.

you cant use the 17-55. its an EF-S. It makes a smaller image circle.

You can use them all, except the EF-S - but:

  • No aperture ring. If you want to use an aperture other than the max aperture, you will have to mount the lens on your Canon DSLR first. Tedious.
  • No "real" manual focus ring. These lenses are designed for auto-focus use. The manual focus ring is very sensitive (close to infinity in like ½ a turn), making it hard to pull precise focus.
Can't find any used Canon FD lenses

Ebay?
