Canon launches the EF 35mm f1.4 II L USM lens priced at 1799 usd according to B&H

· Aperture Range: f/1.4-22
· Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics
· Two Aspherical Elements, One UD Element
· Subwavelength and Fluorine Coatings
· Ultrasonic Autofocus Motor
· Full-Time Manual Focus Override
· Weather-Sealed Design
· Rounded 9-Blade Diaphragm

They claim inventing a new type of ''organic'' glass that focuses all colour wavelength onto the same spot, thus no CA/Purple stuff. Maybe it's like the otus in having no CA at 1.4, probably not

That's about 300-400 more than the predecessor sells for. Waiting for the reviews, I hope it's sharp at 1.4 at last.

I was just over on Canon Rumors before here and if you like charts, the MTF chart shows significant improvement over the currently available lens.
