Most people go the Canon FD route because:

- you can only set the aperture on the EF using an EOS camera. Meaning you'll have to take the lens off the adapter, put it on a EOS camera, set the aperture, then put it back on your adapter.

- FD lenses are generally much cheaper than their EF counterparts since FD lenses are no longer used on modern day Canon cameras.

Canon and Nikon both produce great images and probably the major difference is slightly different color rendition. You can't go wrong with either. Canon FD's are currently slightly cheaper than their Nikon counterparts.

I use the Canon EF lenses, there's really no comparison. They are way better than the FD (older).

I do photography and have some nice EF 'L' series lenses. They look really, really good. It's true you have to use the SLR to change the f-stop, but if your serious about quality, its not a big deal at all.

Any pro will tell you the Canon 'L' series are much better than Nikons
