I just noticed that Canon's new S100 digital compact camera, which is an update of the S95, has the long awaited Digic 5 processor. Whilst this camera might not be of great interest here I thought it would be of interest because as regards video in Canon DSLRs the Digic 5 has been long awaited and much referred to. The big question is whether it improves the aliasing and moire issues. The S100 is nevertheless a more capable video camera doing 1080 24p in H.264. I haven't had time to find out much about it. However others more experienced than me with video technical matters might be able find out more. The only thing I have so far found is that Canon claims it is 6x faster than the previous processor, which is the Digic 4.
